In 1993, JoLida designed a series of large transformers for an industrial customer in which one of the main design criteria was low noise characteristics over a wide signal. It was then suggested that if the size of the transformers were reduced, they would be highly applicable to tube amplifier transformer. Please note that in a tube amplifier, the transformer is the heart of the unit. The market criteria was that the bulk of our line would have to retail below $1,000. We just believed that the world did not need another $4,000 amplifier.
There is tight and nice lower bass that adds to the bass excitement. The mids are lush and transparent. The highs are extended without being etchy. There is nice air around the instruments. This is a warm sounding tube amp without any tube veiling.
JoLida made its name with what used to be called "popular priced" tubed electronics that offered exceptional value-for-dollar.
